1. Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of the Lanka Yoga Village website and the services offered through it. By browsing the site, creating an account, contributing content or booking a retreat, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. About us

Lanka Yoga Village is a yoga retreat and practice community based at Sri Bodhicitta Yogi Hermitage, Kurunegoda, Sri Lanka. You can reach us at lankayogavillage@gmail.com.

3. Your account

Some parts of the site, such as writing blog posts or adding gallery photographs, require an account. You must be at least 16 years old to create one.

• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Acceptable use

We ask that you use the site with the same care you would bring to the hermitage itself. You agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Upload photographs of other people without their permission.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection to us.
• Scrape, copy or republish the site at scale, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
• Upload malicious code or interfere with the site's normal operation.

5. Retreats, classes and bookings

Descriptions of retreats, classes, accommodation and pricing on the site are invitations to enquire. A booking is only confirmed once we acknowledge it and receive any deposit we ask for. We may need to change schedules, teachers or accommodation in exceptional circumstances, and we will always tell you first.

If you need to cancel, please let us know as early as you can. Cancellation and refund terms are shared with your booking confirmation, because they depend on the retreat, season and costs already committed on our side.

6. Payment

Prices are shown in the currency stated with each offering and may change before a booking is confirmed. Payments are handled by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card details.

7. Your content and contributions

You keep ownership of the photographs, captions and articles you contribute. By submitting them you confirm that you own them or have permission to share them, and that anyone recognisable in a photograph has agreed to it being published.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, resize and reproduce your contribution on this website and in our own channels that promote the village. You can ask us to remove your contribution at any time, and we will do so within a reasonable period.

8. Our intellectual property

The text, design, photography, logos and other content we create for this site belong to Lanka Yoga Village and may not be copied or reused commercially without our written permission.

9. Yoga and health disclaimer

Yoga involves physical movement and can carry a risk of injury. You take part in classes, retreats and practices at your own risk, and you should consult a qualified medical practitioner before starting if you are pregnant, recovering from injury, or managing a medical condition.

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and no teacher at Lanka Yoga Village acts as your physician. Tell your teacher about any injury or limitation before a session begins, and stop if something does not feel right.

10. Third-party services and links

The site links to external services, such as Google sign-in and registration or booking pages. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

11. Availability

We offer the site as it is. We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of it, and we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We are not responsible for losses caused by outages, or by your own device or connection.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lanka Yoga Village is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, income or opportunity, arising from your use of the site or from your participation in a class or retreat. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

13. Suspending or ending access

We may suspend or close an account, or remove a contribution, if these terms are broken or if the site's security or community require it. You may delete your own contributions, and you may ask us to close your account at any time.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the most recent version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
